What is it about these two extremities that make them one of the most common, adored and prevailing fetishes since fetish began? Like anything, if you break it down and look at it from an analytical viewpoint, as Webster’s describes; ‘Foot – Terminal part of leg of man and other animals, upon which they stand and walk, in man the part below the ankle joint, considered as a single, separate limb or member’. Not quite so sexy and alluring, but accurate nonetheless. Now lets describe it another way; ‘Running my hand slowly over my ankle, I let it rest a while before moving on to my foot. The soft skin of the upper side slopes down gently to my toes, which are adorned with a dark polish. Delicately and beautifully ordered, almost asking to be kissed, they give way to the sole of my foot, describing a gentle arc which leads back to my heel, tiny creases in the flesh of my sole creating a hypnotic topography, the whole picture almost puts you in a trance..’

As I say in most of my articles, everyone’s kink is their own, and every foot fetishist may have a different and often very specific ideal. Some like bare feet, many like feet in pantyhose, stockings or fishnets. A common, and very sensual image is that of a shoe dangling from the end of the toes, showing not quite enough, but not too much, creating that frustrating yet wonderful feeling of nonattainment.
Some prefer sweaty, or odorous feet (or both!), longing to press their face (and often other parts of their bodies) deep into the arch, and inhale deeply that goddess perfume which almost turns them feral. Some want to be stood on by said feet, or kicked by them, others to genuinely worship them, to pamper and massage, to bathe and anoint them. So, why? And is the ‘why?’ question even relevant? As with anything, there are sure to be a million and one reasons why someone develops a foot fetish, ranging from the sexual to the psychological. One chap I know states that it comes from his school days, when he would often see the girl at the desk in front lift her heel from inside her shoe, leaving her toes inside and he became transfixed by her soles, fit to burst with wanting to see her toes. This shows that an early experience at a sexually turbulent time has crossed over into an adult fetish. And a perfectly healthy one too! There are lots of other things which people lick, kiss and fantasize over which are far less innocent than feet! There is also the submissive element, to be at someone’s feet, showing utter subservience to the lowest part of their body. Webster’s also gives the phrase ‘To be at ones feet – absolutely at ones disposal’
Whatever the underlying reason, feet, though often objectified are part of a whole, and are all the more beautiful because of this. Truly a fetish to be celebrated.
